Bradley University invites applications for the position of Occupational Therapy Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) in the College of Education and Health Sciences. This position is a full-time 12-month in-residence appointment beginning January 1, 2025. The AFWC is primarily responsible for coordinating the fieldwork education portion of the OTD curriculum in collaboration with the OT Program Director. This faculty position has documented release time for administering fieldwork education, teaching and advisement, scholarship, and service responsibilities. This position requires significant contact with students, outside constituents, professional consortiums, and faculty, so teaching responsibilities have been significantly reduced to meet the fieldwork program's needs.

Candidates will work at a university engaged in providing quality higher education. Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds. Candidates must currently have or be eligible for Illinois state licensure as an occupational therapist with all licenses in good standing. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a registered occupational therapist (OTR), a terminal degree (PhD, EdD, DSc, OTD, DrOT), and professional experience as a fieldwork educator or documentation of training in the roles and responsibilities of a fieldwork educator. In addition to strong academic qualifications and excellence in teaching, the University highly values experience in working across cultural and other significant differences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SUPERVISED BY THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR

  • Be responsible for the program’s compliance with the fieldwork requirements of the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education Standards

  • Teaching & Course Management in undergraduate and graduate courses

  • Research and/or Creative Production/Scholarship

  • Professional Service


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN COLLABORATION WITH THE OTHER CLINICAL COORDINATORS IN THE COLLEGE

  • Communicates between the Academic Institution and Affiliated Fieldwork Sites

  • Fieldwork Site and Educator Development

  • Works collaboratively with the various programs within the College of Education and Health Sciences

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Academic Program Director

POSITION IN ORGANIZATION
Reports to:  Academic Program Director/ Department Chair
Collaborates with Fieldwork Sites and Educators

The preferred candidate has a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience with an area of occupational therapy specialization. Preferred prior teaching experience in undergraduate or graduate courses.

The Department of Occupational Therapy comprises a dynamic and collaborative faculty actively engaged in a student-centered learning environment.
