The Job:
As a Materials Manager, you’ll be part of our T&O team located in Dallas, TX. The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing company's overall supply chain, logistics strategy and operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. This includes, planning, directing and coordinating all aspects of the supply chain including forecasting and planning activities, procurement of raw materials, MRO, tooling and services, inventory management and warehouse operations. Additionally, this individual is responsible for developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and distributors.
Specifically, you’ll:
- Responsible for the entire process flow of manufacturing goods from raw material, work in process and finished goods
- Lead the materials team: Shipping, Receiving, Purchasing and Production Planning
- Participation in negotiations of long-term contracts in coordination with company policies, DOA, and for continuous improvement programs
- Works with corporate commodities group to source and procure new vendors. Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies and interviews them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures to reduce cost and drive continuous improvement.
- Works with manufacturing to identify capacity issues including RCCP/LCTP and optimize production efficiencies.
- Oversee inventory control system to include cycle counting, inventory levels and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Identify root cause for inventory issues and develop timely root cause analysis
- Lead regular strategy deployment and KPI reviews for the materials team ensuring attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to the strategic implementation priorities
- Passionately drive continuous improvement culture while implementing the strategic roadmap to achieve breakthrough performance in working capital, delivery, cost and growth
- Build an outstanding team and evolve the organizational structure, as needed, in order to meet and exceed objectives
- Play an active and significant role in the S&OP process
The Person:
You’re a curious problem solver who has the ability to bring big ideas to life. You’re creative and scrappy but can navigate a large organization with ease. You’re agile and adaptable but work with precision to ensure we deliver top-notch customer experiences, always. You also have:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Management, Business Administration or similar education or equivalent related experience; preferably in high volume manufacturing
- 8+ years of experience managing and leading Supply Chain functions in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with SAP and JDA to develop, prepare and complete internal and external communication and reports.
- Strong analytical, project management, process and conceptual skills
- Hands on planning and execution of responsibilities and directives
- Strong and persistent drive to deliver positive results
