THE ROLE

The Senior Graphic/Stakeholder Design Manager position requires a candidate that can work in a cross functional team setting.  Working closely with the Sr. Director of Design, other internal departments, and outside vendors, this candidate will manage several facets of design for the Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026. With proven experience working for the Olympic Games and with the Olympic Museum, this candidate is: adheres to guidelines, is a creative problem solver, well- organized, someone who works well in team settings, and can calmly manage several tasks at once. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with design team to help define and maintain visual brand identity through the development of brand guidelines and other design assets.
  • Manage development and TRACK validation of brand guidelines for event production.
  • Support Art Director(s) with 3D model views and photorealistic visualizations.
  • Work with Olympic Stakeholders who wish to produce their own hospitality experiences.
  • Act as quality control and oversight for external production agencies.
  • Working with Art Director on incorporating IOC artwork and captions within guidelines.
  • Work with internal and external resources to design, organize, track, communicate and present a variety of design assets for presentation, validation and/or production purposes.
  • Manage development of small format design needs including gifting, product, and signage.
  • Ensure strict adherence to timelines, design intent and brand guidelines.
  • Graphic Design and/or quality control for large- and small-scale print production.
  • Project management. working with internal and external resources to organize, track, communicate, present, and produce a variety of graphic design elements for validation and/or production purposes.  
  • Act as quality and brand control on final graphic designs including any text/copy.
  • Familiarity and adherence to brand and style guidelines across all forms of internal and external output.
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members, work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Can clearly communicate visual information and rationale behind design choices and applications as needed.
  • Act as oversight on IOC heritage through knowledge of Olympic values, culture and sport.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow administrative procedures for timesheets, time off requests, and other HR needs.
  • Keep up to date with any deliverables the Project Management team needs for billing purposes.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets
  • Adherence to procedure and policy

Travel

Must be adaptable with work and travel schedule and be available to travel for work which may include extended work hours during nights, weekends, and holidays.  This position may require up to 50 % travel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or print production or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Familiarity with architectural floorplans, and CAD drawings.
  • Experience working with Stakeholders and Sport Federations on environmental design experiences.
  • Experience managing interior design elements such as furniture, décor, branding in an Olympic Stadium or similar large-scale event.
