As a passionate criminal justice professional interested in improving pretrial services and addressing disparities, the Pierce County's Clerk of Superior Court has an exciting opportunity for you! As a Pre-Trial Services Case Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to be on the cutting edge of advancing pretrial justice goals such as reducing reliance on jail and helping implement systematic changes that result in more equitable disbursement of pretrial justice. We try to protect the community while reducing racial, economic, cultural, and other disparities in pretrial release decisions.
You will have your own caseload, offering support and removing barriers while assessing risk for those in legal proceedings in Superior Court. You will work with several court-related agencies and community-based agencies to help determine eligibility for those released into the community. This position manages a specialized caseload of individuals with significant and persistent mental health challenges, complex system barriers, and a high need for coordinated care.

How to be Successful in the Role:
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong empathy, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively deescalate heightened situations. This role requires resourcefulness, patience, and a commitment to person-centered engagement. The incumbent will work closely with local behavioral health providers, housing and social-service partners, and community treatment teams to support individuals’ stabilization and continuity of care. Regular collaboration with Forensic Navigators at DSHS is essential to ensure appropriate service linkage, timely competency-related processes, and consistent communication across systems.
