The Senior Associate Director, Programs position primarily provides program management to the Finance and Business Operations team, Data and Specimen Use access determination and process management, Human Resource coordination for the CHAMPS program office and strategic support to the Sr Director of Finance and Business Operations and the Finance and Business Operations (FAB) team in the Program Office. The position works under the broad guidance of the Sr Director of Finance and Business Operations

  • Directs the strategic planning, development, and implementation of a program.
  • Serves as a liaison and key spokesperson to various committees and organizations.

  • Assists with policy formulation, strategy development, and the management of daily operations.
  • May collaborate with representatives from private, government, and international agencies.
  • Conducts research, designs new initiatives, and writes publishable articles and papers.
  • May supervise staff.

FOCUS AREA RESPONSIBILITIES % (EST):

  • Business Operations
  • Identify FAB team priorities, activities, and deliverables and assign and track tasks for completion
  • Develop, coordinate the annual update and monitor compliance ofall Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) across the CHAMPSProgram Office
  • Provide the logistics and operations support/oversight to CHAMPSGlobal Partners Board Meeting and Site Network meeting.
  • Providing critical program oversight to ensure that all internationaltravel arrangements meet Emory requirements and are in fullcompliance with donor regulation while striving for the mostefficient travel option
  • Monitor the security situations in each CHAMPS site and travelroutes updating a travelers security guide
  • Provide guidance and oversight for in-office meeting needs
  • Conduct literature reviews; synthesize and summarize literaturesurrounding global operations implementation

Human Resources (30%):

  • Provide guidance and oversight for onboarding and offboarding processes for all CHAMPS staff ensuring consistentimplementation across all partner organizations including Mauve,Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and other partnerorganizations
  • Provide Human Resource support supervisors across the CHAMPSprogram office with needed guidance on job descriptiondevelopment, interview evaluations and selected candidatedocumentation
  • Provide guidance to Task Force resources around in-office supportfor staff, in regards to space needs, technology, room booking,facilities tickets, and other in-office needs
  • Coordinate and/or conduct trainings on essential workplace toolsand services across the program office

Data Access Management (15%):

  • Coordinate the data requests from the Gates Foundation and otherpossible donors, the program office, and other domestic andinternational stakeholders
  • Triage the data requests to determine the level of data required andcoordinate the execution of DUAs, MTAs, and other agreements
  • Work withTask Force for Global Healthr to update existingtemplates as needed
  • Provides strategic oversight and project management support forthe re-organization of the Data Access Working Group, ensuretimely follow-up on action items, develop strategic agendas, androutine communication updates.
  • Manage interaction and coordination with internationalorganizations
