  • At Precision Turbo & Engine, a Wabtec Company, our focus is building high quality turbo and turbo accessories to our aftermarket customers.  The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting and preparing financial statements and managing day to day accounting operations in compliance with GAAP standards.  This individual will also be working with other managerial staff assisting with reporting that will help evaluate and achieve economical productivity while maintaining the highest standard of accuracy.  The Staff accountant is an exempt full time position that directly reports to Controller. 

This person is expected to be in office 5 days a week.

  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monthly closings and financial reports are completed accurately in accordance with GAAP on a timely basis.
  • Development of and analysis of the effectiveness of accounting policies, procedures and controls
  • Maintenance of GL, AP, AR, Inventory and Cost Accountant related activities.
  • Establishes system controls and adheres to SOX requirements, including compliance testing of key control areas.
  • Supports internal and external audits involving review of accounting records and internal controls, including SOX.
  • Ability to process payroll and prepare respective journal entry
  • Assisting in any type of financial analysis required for cost accounting or for any aspect of business operation.
  • Preparing reconciliation packs for full suite of balance sheet GL accounts
  • Assist with financial reporting through Corporate Reporting
  • Performance and maintenance of inventory cycle counting program
  • Supervise outsourced service providers in AR/AP capacities
  • Project based activity as directed by Controller
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business or accounting
  • Experience with public accounting or with a large company in their corporate accounting/finance department.
  • Background in manufacturing systems with strong knowledge of inventory and cost accounting
  • At least 3+ years of progressive finance experience

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze operating results and communicate critical issues to management
  • Highly motivated and looking to advance within the organization
  • Hands-on, rollup the sleeves attitude
  • Business oriented mindset to partner with other functions within the organization
  • Experience with fully integrated ERP systems -  SAP, Oracle R12 (or similar software), including Essbase and Hyperion Financial Management reporting systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office computer skills – Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Power Pivot, Power Query, VLOOKUP, Macros, etc), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Excel assessment may be required during interview process.
  • Ability to prepare well-constructed spreadsheets demonstrating a high degree of financial acumen and visual appeal
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment; participation on kaizens and value stream mapping exercises.
  • Experience with Lean Accounting methodologies
  • A sense of urgency with the ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.

  • Physical Demands:
