About the role

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Senior Project Manager - Strategic Communications & Outreach in the Atlanta, Georgia (GA) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a strategic mindset and a passion for leading large public outreach/public involvement programs. Their focus will include leading community and stakeholder engagement activities, as well as managing aspects of infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will also play a role in business development and growing and mentoring a team. 

  • Facilitate the growth of a strategic communications team
  • Identify new opportunities and clients
  • Leverage internal and external relationships to implement strategic communications and outreach initiatives
  • Collaborate with practice teams and support practice to develop a sustainable staffing support plan
  • Mentor and train team members to support the growth of the strategic communications team
  • Monitor and prepare responses to public inquiries

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in communications and/or outreach with infrastructure, transportation, or other complex projects
  • Bachelors or Master Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, Planning, Government Relations, or related field
  • Exceptional command of English, with excellent written/oral communication and proofing skills. Experience writing for multiple audiences and presenting technical concepts in a clear and concise structure
  • Excellent people skills include communicating, listening, and summarizing information, documenting interactions, and problem-solving or reducing conflicts
  • Ability to interface with a variety of clients and the public
  • Experience with the development and implementation of public outreach and or communications plans
