Department overview:

The Alpha platform at Nomura is a set of pre-trade applications used globally by the Equity Derivatives Front Office for price discovery, quoting, parameter management & market analysis. The Alpha Development Team is primarily responsible for building & supporting the Alpha platform. We take the highly regarded Quant library and deploy it in a large-scale distributed environment to solve our mass-quoting requirements and provide in-depth analysis and market insight. We are a small, high-performing team and operate in a fast-paced environment, sitting directly on the trading desk

 

Role description:

We are looking for a dynamic software developer to join our team to help us cope with the growing business demands. Working alongside trading & sales, the candidate will work on the Alpha platform and build innovative tools that provide competitive advantage and generate revenue.

Day-to-day responsibilities involve

• Engaging with the business to understand new initiatives/ideas/issues
• Developing new features in C#.NET / HTML5 React.js UIs in a distributed environment
• Supporting & maintaining the application & environment

 

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

 

Mandatory Requirements

• Numerate degree holder or above
• Experience building distributed systems using one or more of C#, Python, Java, C++
• Experience building rich UIs using C# WinForms / WPF, or Web HTML5 React.js
• Familiar with SQL database schema, index and stored procedures
• Having strong interest in derivatives and structured products
• Practitioner of agile development & DevOps principles
• A good team player and fast learner
