Job Title: Senior Technical Writer and Exercise Documenter 

Athenix Special Missions (ASM) is seeking a Senior Technical Writer/Exercise Documenter

Job Summary:

Document all aspects of exercise and all activities in support of the Raven’s Challenge Program Manager and Project Lead. Also responsible for maintaining exercise documents and developing required exercise compliance documents. All efforts provide support for the successful accomplishment of the training support services for the Department of Justice Raven’s Challenge exercises conducted at various Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) locations throughout the United States. These exercises are conducted to provide realistic, collective training experience for Counter Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED), military Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), and Public Safety Bomb Squad (PSBS) Interoperability Exercise/Collective Training Event series.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Development and oversight of all exercise supporting documentation that are required for HSEEEP compliance.
• Management of VIP coordination and development of VIP invitation as directed by Program Lead and Program Manager.
• Develop MSEL, Ground Truth Documents, Participant and Observer /Controller feedback and surveys.
• Responsible for capturing exercise metrics and the development of the After-Action Review.
• Oversee exercise writing, documentation protocols, development of scenarios, and Ground Truth documents to endure compliance with HSEEP protocols.
• Conduct detailed research, analysis, and cataloging of IED information from current real-world sources.
• Develop feedback data management to identify key exercise metrics. Review data, collect metrics and perform statistical analysis to make recommendation to remediate/eliminate underperforming scenarios.
• Support Program Manager at professional conferences, symposiums and other public engagements designed to promote and enhance the program, as directed.
• Advise Program Manager and Project Lead of changes in the HSEEP program that have an impact on the management and execution of the exercise.

 Experience/Education:

• Ability to obtain an ATF Clearance for ATF Systems access.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Two (2) years of experience in documenting large scale Public Safety Bomb Squad and Military EOD Exercises.
• Four (4) years of hands-on experience in HSEEP compliant exercises.
• Two (2) years of experience supporting Raven’s Challenge Exercises as an OC or primary staff.
• Fully qualified in all Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program. requirements and completed HSEEP Basic Certification K0146.
• Fully competent in all Microsoft Office Suite.
