There are currently 280 KIPP schools across the nation serving nearly 120,000 students. Founded in 2002, KIPP Memphis serves over 1,200 K-12 students in our three North Memphis schools and almost 900 alumni on their journeys to-and-through college with our KIPP Forward Program.

Job Description


The Office Manager is a cornerstone of the work we do at KIPP Memphis. The Office Manager plays a primary role in coordinating the school administrative systems and routines that allow the school to run on a daily basis including financial management through placing orders and processing invoices, managing student enrollment, serving as the primary caretaker of student information, and that parents, students, and community members are greeted with a service-focused team when entering our schools.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains a friendly, professional, clean, and neat office environment
  • Collects, maintains, and stores all student records in accordance with Shelby County Schools policies and procedures
  • Answer phone, reply to emails, sort mail, and handle all communication flowing through the main office
  • Reach out to families for a variety of reasons including student absences
  • Serve as an active member of student recruitment and enrollment efforts including reaching out to potentially interested families
  • Collects, maintains and reports all student/staff attendance records on a daily basis
  • Assists with the ordering, inventory, and maintenance of school equipment and supplies
  • Assists with the processing of invoices and credit card summaries
  • Work with students directly, including occasional supervision duties, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education:  Bachelor's degree required; or Associate's degree and 2-years of experience
  • One year of administrative experience
  • Excellent customer service skills, including an outwardly friendly demeanor
  • Highly organized including evidence of strong follow-through skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to learn quickly, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Comfortable interacting with the general public and working closely with teachers, staff, administrators, and other stakeholders
  • Open to feedback and flexible with new and changing situations
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite for Education
  • Experience with PowerSchool



Preferred:

  • Three or more years of administrative experience
