MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Annual Salary: $38,127.70

Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic computer skills are required.
• Must be willing and able to be on-call and/or work a schedule that is inclusive of weekends and holidays.
• Able to lift 75 - 100 pounds without assistance.
• One (1) year of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, electrical, plumbing or mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings
• Valid Driver License.
• Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.‎

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Knowledge of AHCA Life Safety Procedures for an LTC facility
• Able to read and understand ASBUILDS (blueprints)
• High School diploma or equivalent 

 

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/EXPECTATION:

The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Utilities and Maintenance Superintendent. The duties and responsibilities include:

• Repair and maintenance of the physical plant, property, equipment and mechanical systems of the State Veterans’ Home.
• Assisting to ensure a safe environment exists in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local requirements.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of the buildings do not deteriorate.
• Provides routine repair services to defective equipment, repairs physical plant deficiencies, resolves routine work orders, assists with the assembly, delivery and installation of facility equipment.
• Documents actions and outcomes of preventative maintenance efforts, repair services and other routine actions to assist the Maintenance Superintendent in maintenance of a concise record of services rendered.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, assists the Maintenance Superintendent with maintaining a focus on safety and accident prevention throughout the facility. 
• Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
