Role background

Wolt has been growing rapidly in Finland ever since Wolt was founded in 2014. Now in 2023, the Operations team in Finland is responsible for the cooperation with over 5000 courier partners in more than 60 cities across the country. As the Operations Development Team Lead, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and manage a team of five Operations Specialists who are responsible for developing the way we cooperate with our partners and improving the way we work internally to make that happen. This development work has resulted in us, for example, entering new verticals such as groceries and pharmacy, expanding to 40 new cities since 2020 and introducing new tools that allow us and our partners to have a better experience. 

In this role, no day is the same and there’s always something to do. As such, you need to be adaptable, self-motivated and driven to succeed. You must also have excellent interpersonal skills and a big heart - we think people first at all times! 
 

What you’ll be doing

• Managing and helping a team of Operations Specialists who are in charge of developing the way we work internally and with our courier partners 
• Prioritizing and leading development initiatives, such as improving the onboarding experience of new courier partners, enabling expansion to new verticals (such as pharmacy), finding ways to decrease unauthorized account sharing and so on
• Helping out with the highest priority initiatives by analyzing data and giving a second opinion
• Proactively planning new development initiatives to make sure we spend our time where it creates most value
• Making sure your team has everything they need to succeed
• Copying with pride the good things from other teams within and outside of Finland while sharing learnings from best practices to other countries

Qualifications

• Professional experience with proven project management skills, earlier experience as a team lead is a big plus
• Ability to lead by example and motivate - you have the genuine will and skill to support and lead your team members
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills and advanced level in Excel/Google sheets. You are able to analyze data, focus on what is relevant, conceptualize new solutions and implement them in close collaboration with your team
• Ability to look beyond weekly tasks and proactively look for new ways to improve existing processes
• Excellent communication skills - you are able to communicate about complex topics to wide range of stakeholders by striking a perfect balance between sharing enough context, high level takeaways and necessary details 
• Fast learner and ability to quickly adapt to new tools, processes, and information
• Getting things done with a can-do attitude and being comfortable in a fast-paced and high impact environment
• Fluent in English, fluency in Finnish is a big plus
