The Role
The Biobank and Biomarker Operations teams are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Co-op Student to support the development of customized Generative AI (GPT) assistants. This role will focus on creating, testing, and optimizing GPT-powered solutions to streamline workflows, enhance knowledge sharing, and improve operational efficiency across biomarker and biobank functions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a student interested in the intersection of life sciences, data, and cutting-edge AI technologies.
Here’s What You’ll Do
AI Assistant Development: Build and refine customized GPTs tailored to the needs of the Biobank and Biomarker Operations teams.
Workflow Automation: Design AI-driven tools to support tasks such as SOP navigation, data entry support, FAQ handling, study guides, and QC processes.
Knowledge Management: Integrate GPTs with relevant internal knowledge bases and documents to provide accurate, accessible support to team members.
User Testing & Feedback: Partner with teams to test GPT prototypes, collect feedback, and iterate improvements.
Team Training: Develop and deliver training sessions, demos, and onboarding materials to help team members adopt and effectively use GPT tools.
Documentation: Create clear guides and reference materials to support the use and long-term sustainability of GPT solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Biomarker Operations and Biobank teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Life Sciences, or related program with an interest in AI applications in healthcare/biotech.
Basic knowledge of AI/ML concepts and familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, prompt engineering, or LLM-based platforms).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate operational needs into AI solutions.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Understanding of biomarker research, laboratory operations, or clinical study processes.
Comfortable working with large volumes of scientific/technical documents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Detail-oriented with an eagerness to learn and innovate in a fast-paced environment.
