Job Description

As a Patient Care Tech, the employee supports the overall Mission and Vision of Valley Health by providing the highest quality and best-practice service to its customers. The Patient Care Tech may be employed in any one of the rehab settings, and under direct supervision of a Physical or Occupational Therapist, provides support and assistance with the safe and functional rehabilitation care and treatment of the patient. The Patient Care Tech supports the patient's rehabilitation goals, communicates all patient issues with the supervising therapist and demonstrates flexibility to adjust to fluctuating patient care and therapist needs. Clinical settings may include: Acute / Inpatient Rehab / Outpatient. In addition, the employee maintains a working knowledge and is supportive of departmental, hospital and organizational initiatives and updates, and stays current with communication, such as emails, in a professional and timely manner.

Education
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Successful completion of 40 hour educational training program with written post-test and technical competencies to include didactic education.

Experience
Has a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Rehab Aide as defined by WMC Rehabilitation Services.

Certification & Licensures
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *
* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
Understands basic principles of human growth and development. Works in inpatient care setting and is employed a minimum 1040 hours per year.
