Cedarville University seeks Graduate Assistant to support the Head Golf Coach in fostering a Christ-centered culture of competitive athletics that equips student-athletes to impact the world for Christ. This position assists with coaching, recruiting, player development, team operations, spiritual leadership, and administrative responsibilities for the men’s and women’s golf programs.
The GA will help lead a program committed to excellence in competition, academics, community service, and campus leadership while supporting the mission and commitments of Cedarville University.
This is an on-site graduate student position working less than 990 annual hours. The position is at-will and is not a contracted appointment. As part of the graduate assistantship, tuition for an approved Cedarville University graduate program is provided. Housing, meals, books, fees, and other related expenses are the responsibility of the graduate assistant.
Essential Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
• Support the mission and direction of Cedarville University and the Department of Athletics

Coaching & Recruiting
• Assist with instruction, conditioning, skill development, and practice preparation in compliance with NCAA legislation
• Identify, recruit, and host prospective student-athletes
• Build relationships with high school and club coaches
• Collaborate appropriately with Admissions and Athletic Department staff
• Assist with coaching responsibilities during practices and competitions
Student-Athlete Welfare
• Support the physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, and social well-being of student-athletes
• Promote student-athlete academic success and personal growth
• Support the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
• Encourage campus and community engagement opportunities for team members
Operations
• Assist with scheduling practices, scrimmages, and competitions
• Coordinate facility setup and practice logistics
• Assist with team travel planning and supervision during off-campus events
• Manage team equipment and uniform inventory and purchasing
• Communicate effectively with athletic administrators and support staff
• Submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner
Compliance
• Maintain compliance with NCAA, G-MAC, NCCAA, and University policies and regulations
• Monitor academic progress and support student-athlete accountability
• Report any potential rules violations to the Compliance Office
• Maintain accurate team rosters and competition schedules
Finance & Fundraising
• Assist in managing the team budget responsibly
• Submit receipts and budget paperwork promptly
• Participate in fundraising efforts and departmental campaigns
• Assist with sport-specific camps and clinics
Additional Responsibilities
• Support NCCAA postseason participation and award nominations as applicable
• Attend department meetings, conferences, and continuing education opportunities when possible
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Coach
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
• Collegiate golf playing and/or coaching experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and self-motivation
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related computer applications
Required Mental & Physical Abilities
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines simultaneously
• Ability to maintain focus amid frequent interruptions and activity
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to obtain and maintain current American Red Cross Standard First Aid certification or AHA Heartsaver First Aid certification
