Position Profile:
The Senior Accountant is an integral member of the Accounting Team and ensures that financial information is recorded in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles. This position will be an integral part of the monthly accounting close, financial statement preparation, yearly audit process and reporting to management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Without restricting the generality of this job description, the Senior Accountant for Takkion shall
perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to, the
following:
- Records journal entries as assigned during the close process for multiple legal entities.
- Ensures transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed, and supported in accordance with company policies and controls.
- Prepares multiple balance sheet account reconciliations for each legal entity.
- Provides variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts for management reporting purposes.
- Assist with recording fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system including depreciation entries.
- Reconciles the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
- Maintains system for capital accruals and works with project managers to ensure completion estimates are accurate.
- Tracks company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.
- Answers and resolves any internal and external customer inquiries regarding financial results, including audit inquiries.
- Assists with the preparation of the monthly financial statements and prepares explanations as needed.
- Performs an internal audit regularly to identify miscoded activity.
- Creates reclass entries with proper documentation to correct miscoded activity.
- Provides support and prepares account transaction detail as requested by management.
- Completes ad hoc reporting as requested.
- Scans documents into the accounting software.
- Completes and file sales tax returns.
- Plays role in annual audit.
- Completes regulatory and/or governmental filings.
- Supports special projects and assists others as needed.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Accounting Manager or other team members.
Requirements
Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 2-5 years relevant professional experience preferred
- Working knowledge of accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred)
- Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
- Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods
