About the role
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing an efficient assembly operation of new generation containers and repairing of multi-generational containers. Ensure production goals are met in a safe workplace while maintaining high quality that meets brand standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures and OSHA regulations
- Train, coach, and supervise assembly and repair associates to ensure production and quality goals are met on new generation container assembly and repairing of multi-generational containers.
- Ensure the proper staging of production areas, stocking of inventory, and notification of the parts department when stock reaches designated minimum levels
- Process all repair orders in D365 as sales orders to local markets and IF
- Maintain and enforce facility standards including safety measures, adoption of and adherence to continuous improvement procedures, including the teaching of productivity techniques and monitoring of progress
- Model the standard for work area cleanliness and orderliness to a 5S standard with accountability for the same with and among team members supervised
- Assist with the measurement, recording and delivery of performance goals and feedback for assembly and repair associates as part of a comprehensive performance management process
- Implement & monitor performance to all processes, safety, and quality controls
- Report all daily production; provide daily summary KPI’s to senior management
- Assist in talent acquisition by recruiting, selecting, and training employees
- Ensure all associates complete required training materials
- Track attendance, accidents and other incidents and follow proper disciplinary action
- Provide effective and regular communication to team members including goals, business results, opportunities for improvement and key focus areas
- Able to complete forklift training and safely operate a forklift
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Prefer associate or bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
- Prefer 3+ years supervisory experience
- Ability to read and understand English is required for OSHA safety regulations
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and improvement processes
- Knowledge of safety, health and environmental rules, laws, and requirements
- Knowledge of HR policies and procedures
- Must be self-motivated and eager to succeed
- Effective leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Must have excellent communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to effectively implement change
