Job Description:

The Business Systems Specialist performs systems analysis assignments with varying degrees of supervision. The Business Systems Specialist also provides complex technical business support to clients that utilize small/midsize/enterprise level systems.

Depth & Scope:

• Communicates with lines of business to ensure understanding of business processes and requirements of the users.
• Assesses available technologies recommending innovative and cost-effective solutions
• Analyzes business challenges and recommends appropriate IT solutions and services
• Maps current business processes to new systems and supports the transition to the new solution
• Determines interface requirements for effective system transition
• Resolves issues that cross multiple systems or departments that may affect the business process
• Develops detailed requirements / specification documents that include features and functions of the new system
• Implements new system installations, upgrade and conversions
• Documents selected system parameters, file layouts and application design layouts.

Education & Experience:

• 4 Year Degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ Years of related experience
• Excellent communications, problem-solving and decision making skills
• Progressively responsible experience in large scale corporate systems analysis
• Previous management experience required
• Ability to work with systems users or potential users to develop system specifications and requirements, applying business systems knowledge to ensure relevant areas of research are addressed
• Ability to independently translate user requirements into technical specifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 2 or more of the following Systematics applications: RM, IM, ST, FM
• Experience with the following FIS/Systematics applications: AM 
• Extensive hands-on experience using and navigating the above application(s), understanding overall functionality & interactions
• Experience working with both waterfall and agile methodology
• TSO/ISPF
• Endevor element browse
• Experience using File-aid
• Understanding of basic file reading
• Ability to select records based on positional selection criteria
• Software skills required: Excel, Visio, Teams, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, Monarch
• Experience writing / executing Easytrieve programs
• Ability to create/work with mainframe macros for screen scraping and data entry
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve the desired result
• Experience working in cross-functional matrix teams
• Experience with functional manual testing
• Experience reviewing technical or unit testing
