Job Description
This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of general labor duties related to grain elevator operations assigned by a supervisor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to company policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performing general housekeeping duties, e.g. sweeping, shoveling, etc.
- Performing daily and monthly inspections on facility equipment.
- Unloading trucks at receiving pit.
- Loading trucks and railcars.
- Rolling and securing trailer tarps.
- Opening and closing railcar lids.
- Closing railcar doors prior to loading and ensuring cars are in good condition and sealed properly.
- Assisting with facility maintenance and preventative maintenance as needed.
- Must be able to work in a dusty environment.
- Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures, as well as dry and wet conditions.
- Must be able to work under the direction of a supervisor and complete tasks as assigned, while maintaining a safe work environment for self and others.
- Must report to work on time and maintain a good attendance record in compliance with company policy.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and help and assist as needed.
Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per day.
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and work at heights of up to 200 feet.
- Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull, and reach overhead.
- Must be able to lift to 75lbs.
- Must be able to learn how to operate a skid steer loader.
- Prior Grain Elevator experience is required.
Hours of Work:
This position will be scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00AM—4:00PM during non-harvest periods. Harvest season is generally June through November and will require extended hours (up to 14 per day) and additional days (to include weekend work). Hours of work are subject to change based on operational conditions and at management discretion.
