Divergent has invented a complete manufacturing solution to address system level challenges.  The Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) is a complete software hardware solution designed to replace traditional vehicle manufacturing.  To make the complex simple, it is a complete modular digital factory for complex structures. Given a set of digital requirements as input, the machine automatically computationally engineers, additively manufactures, and assembles any complex structure.  The system is able to move seamlessly between manufacturing different vehicle models.

As a tier 1 supplier to automotive OEMs across the world, Divergent is now expanding DAPS to support mission critical needs in the Aerospace and Defense sector.  Position: Director of Business Development, Aerospace and Defense
Role Overview:As we expand into the Aerospace and Defense sector, we are seeking a Director of Business Development with extensive experience in Department of Defense (DoD) acquisitions and new business development efforts with defense industrial base partners. Reporting to the Executive Leadership at Divergent, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the aerospace and defense market, with significant experience working in DoD acquisitions, Pentagon leadership, or Program Executive Office (PEO) environments.Key Responsibilities:•Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth in the Aerospace and Defense sector, leveraging your extensive experience with DoD acquisitions to formulate and drive Divergent’s business development roadmap•Identify and prioritize target defense markets, customers, and opportunities, drawing on your in-depth knowledge of the defense industry and a robust understanding of Divergent’s technical capabilities •Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including defense primes, government agencies, and industry partners, utilizing your established network within the Pentagon and defense industrial base•Lead creating the proposal documentation, presentations, and other business development materials, incorporating your expertise in DoD acquisition processes and requirements to shape Divergent’s external messaging •Utilize market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities and develop targeted sales strategies to capitalize on them, driving revenue growth and market share expansion.•Drive the negotiation and execution of contracts with precision and efficacy, leveraging expertise in defense acquisitions to ensure favorable terms and conditions while meeting or exceeding revenue targets.•Provide regular reporting and analysis of sales performance metrics, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts to senior management to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess market needs, develop solutions, and deliver value to customers turning opportunities into captures •Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and regulatory changes to inform business strategy, drawing on your experience in navigating the complexities of the defense procurement ecosystem.•Engage with and support Divergent's congressional relations team to synchronize government engagement efforts•Represent Divergent Technologies at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, showcasing your knowledge and expertise in Divergent's impact to the defense industrial base 
Qualifications:•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field•Minimum of 15 years of experience in business development within the aerospace and defense industry, with significant exposure to DoD acquisitions, Pentagon leadership, or Program Executive Office (PEO) environments.•Proven track record of driving revenue growth and winning new business in a competitive market, with a focus on defense acquisitions and strategic planning.•Strong understanding of aerospace and defense market dynamics, including customer requirements, industry trends, and regulatory environment, particularly within the DoD.•Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with senior executives and
