About the role

If you are a Supply Chain professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Systems and Software (SYSS) business, a $3B industry leader in the process automation industry. This position can be based out of St. Louis, MO, Pittsburgh, PA, or Austin, TX.  

The Regional Category Manager is responsible for the development and execution of category strategies for the Americas region to support the fast growth of SYSS business.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Work cross-functionally across departments such as Operations, Technology, Product Marketing, Supply Chain, and Proposal/Projects, to support and identify new areas of business need, savings opportunity, and process improvements. 
  • Analyze and improve established Key Performance Measurements and conduct comprehensive market, supplier, and spend analyses for assigned categories and regions 
  • Actively identify and pursue opportunities for improvement in the supply chain via eSourcing
  • Support local buyers and procurement managers to implement speed and flexibility programs i.e., consignment reduced lead times, supermarket, pull system.
  • Assess and establish regional supply base and manage supplier relationship and performance
  • Organize and lead regular strategic suppliers' meetings and business reviews for assigned categories and suppliers
  • Provide effective and responsive supports for both Proposal and Project Execution teams in the development of RFQs, supplier identification, category expertise, and sourcing methods 
  • Actively seek opportunities to create savings for the SYSS organization through various forms of sourcing and contract evaluation
Who You Are:
You effectively align the interests of multiple, diverse stakeholders. You readily distinguish between what’s relevant and what’s unimportant to make sense of complex situations. You formulate a clear strategy and map aggressive steps that will accelerate the organization toward its goals.    For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical / Process Technology) or similar technical program, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of Supply Chain, Procurement, or Engineering experience
  • Cross-functional teamwork and strong communications skills
  • Strong experience with global and regional supplier evaluation and selection
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future 
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • MBA or PMP a plus
  • Experience in Automation Technology and familiarity with Process Automation Industry
