Position Summary:
The Application Engineering team applies products to applications, troubleshoots installations, and provides guidance across the full product life cycle. Works with Channel Partners (OEMs, Distributors, System Integrators) and PSG Sales Managers globally. Provides prompt responses to inquiries. Develops tools & training content as required. Offers training and guidance to Sales, Technicians, and Engineers. Coordinates and conducts training to various levels of staff, customers, distributors, and end users.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides in-depth technical information and support to distributors and/or end-users who require assistance with fluid system design and process controls.
- Prepares and conducts application related training.
- Creates and maintains Applications Engineering data base in conjunction with distributors to assist in promoting Blackmer products.
- Understand and address regulatory issues relative to system applications such as American Petroleum Institute (API), Hydraulic Institute standards (HI), etc.
- Reviews special requests and scopes out non-catalog solutions.
- Processes project quotes and serves as project manager to coordinate complete and accurate solutions to the market.
- Supports intra-departmental personnel with Applications issues and facilitates expansion of knowledge base of personnel.
- Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions and trade shows to stay apprised of new developments in field.
- Provides interface with other PSG-GR departments to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Researches commercially available products that enhance the sale or operation of existing PSG-GR products.
- Develops or assists other functional areas in the development of training programs to support selections software, new pump sales/applications, pump service/troubleshooting and other programs to further the knowledge of PSG-GR products to distributors or end users.
- Utilizes various electronic tools for preparing PSG-GR quotations, submittals, product selections and sales presentations.
- Interfaces with other functional areas to research, qualify and develop new markets utilizing product modification, customization and new design concepts.
- Attends trade shows as required.
- Other duties as required in the support of PSG-GR business activities.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process) from ABET accredited four-year college or university, plus three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to confidently and safely use tools, such as drill, hammer, and multi-meter.
