SUMMARY
The Associate Analyst, Logistics intern provides operational business support services for supply chain logistics related activities. The learning objectives for this internship are to provide comprehensive support covering a wide range of disciplines to help different Logistics teams across the organization, including category management and operations. Responsibilities cover key support activities that include but are not limited to; collection of supplier business intelligence, supplier financial data compilation and analysis, business systems cleanup and development, and discovery/collection of industry and logistics relevant information. Responsibilities may require at times unassisted interaction and support with supply chain personnel and other departments to achieve various responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of Logistics leadership:
- Collect, cleanup, and review a wide range of data to uncover hidden patterns, correlations, risks, market trends, customer preferences and other useful information that can help logistics make more-informed business decisions.
- Maintenance and coordinated development of business systems affecting logistics KPIs and internal dashboards.
- Supporting small to mid-size data analysis projects and assisting other logistics personnel on larger more complex projects related to operational business.
- Review assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify efficiency gaps and address operational, financial, and technological risks.
- Working with commodity management personnel to review historical costs, cost savings, usage cycle, and long range forecast of a specific commodity or group of commodities for further analysis.
- Collection, compilation, and maintenance of supplier master data
- Collect news and analyze data related to supplier performance, relevant industry trends, and macroeconomic factors using business portals and public domain resources.
- Compilation of training materials for business systems and processes.
- Assists logistics team with invoice approval status reports.
- Perform other such duties as may be required.
