The Electric Power Systems team within Power and Controls SBU is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented engineer to play a critical role in supporting both new product development and resolving field issues across design, analysis, and testing functions. This position offers the opportunity to contribute throughout the engineering lifecycle—from creating technical documentation and test plans to engaging in hands-on problem solving and root cause investigations.

What You Will Do

  • Support existing product production, development, and field issues related to design, analysis, and test.

  • Create Engineering documentation such as hardware specification development, test plans, analytical reports, and test reports.

  • Perform to program plans (budgets and schedules).

  • Effectively communicate with management, suppliers, customers, and members of the technical design team

  • Participate in design discussions and customer presentations.

  • Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and develop mitigation plans for issues affecting generator program productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

  • Adhere and develop engineering standard work.

  • Respond to supplier or plant site issues, analyze and correct operations and field issues.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, provide markups, and coordinate drawing releases.

  • Support quality investigations as necessary when piece-part issues affect product deliveries.

  • Proactively identify project risks, develop robust mitigation plans, and lead the timely execution of those plans.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

  • Prior experience in project or program engineering

Qualifications We Prefer

  • A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.

  • Design and testing experience with electric power products, such as electrical generators, motors, or hybrid drivetrain systems, in aerospace or a closely related industry.

  • Experience with various electrical machine topologies.

  • Design and testing experience with mechanical products in aerospace or a closely related industry.

  • Experience collaborating with internal and external customers on the integration of mechanical and electrical systems with aircraft engines and/or airframes.

  • Experience with Excel (i.e., VBA, Solver, etc.)

  • Experience preparing and executing to a program plan.
