JOB SUMMARY:
A Controls Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for members of the engineering team implementing automation controls for conveyor and sortation systems. This position is focused on directing the team and providing support and guidance in completing site-based controls projects. You will provide oversight to ensure deliverables are completed within established deadlines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervise and develop a team of engineers, overseeing quality and timeliness of assigned work activities.
Supervise a team of controls engineers, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedure
Coordinate and balance workload using both internal and external resources to complete scheduled engineering activities as required.
Analyze, recommend, and/or develop new concepts, standards, and technology for higher quality and cost effectiveness.
Work with FORTNA employees, customer representatives and third-party vendors to ensure all aspects of a project are considered during both the design and commissioning phases
Review electrical designs and provide feedback on design decisions
Mentor and help train newer engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
4-8 years of experience within an industrial controls environment
Equivalent work experience will also be considered as a substitute for education.
Experience using CAD software for drawings and schematics. (Autocad)
Experience in a material handling or automation industry
Experience with Microsoft 365 - Office Apps.
