THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As the Senior Principal Software Architect for the Marketplaces area, you will oversee the technical direction across multiple teams, ensuring scalable architectures, high-quality engineering standards, and operational excellence. This is a senior leadership role where you’ll guide system design, mentor engineers, and influence technical strategy to shape the future of Tradebyte’s marketplace technology.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Lead architectural decisions across the Marketplaces area, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term business objectives and tech strategy.

• Drive the transition from monolithic to service-oriented systems, ensuring modularity, maintainability, and robust documentation.

• Partner with Engineering Management and Product stakeholders to align technical strategies with business priorities, influencing decision-making at a strategic level.

• Mentor and coach engineers across teams, fostering professional growth and embedding engineering best practices such as CI/CD, incident management, and operational excellence.

• Actively participate in hands-on reviews of system designs and implementations, addressing complex challenges and ensuring architectural consistency across the organization.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF 

• You have extensive experience designing and optimizing high-performance, scalable systems, particularly in service-oriented or microservices architectures.

• You are deeply familiar with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, and have experience with Infrastructure as Code principles.

• You have a proven ability to mentor and guide engineers across all levels, fostering skill development and promoting technical excellence.

• You have strong expertise in operational best practices, such as monitoring, incident management, and ensuring adherence to SLAs.

• You can effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, simplifying complex technical topics for diverse audiences and driving alignment on technical strategies.
