Performing Arts Program

As educators and artists, the Notre Dame Performing Arts faculty lay the foundations for students to serve the world by building skills, making connections, and developing creative problem-solving. We believe it is critical that as passionate artists, students explore arts as relevant beyond entertainment, and experience performing arts as a means to ignite change and serve communities on a local, national, and global scale.

Responsibilities:

• Instructs instrumental music co-curricular (after school) program including Chamber Ensemble/Piano Collaborative, Jazz/Rock Combo at High School level. Provides Vocal or Instrumental music direction for the Spring Musical
• Conducts rehearsals and performances
• Presents performances of high musical quality for the school and community
• Recruits for and maintains a co-curricular program that attracts and retains students to meet performance needs
• Collaborates with Performing Arts colleagues and Campus Ministry to support music programs as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education or Music Performance
• Familiarity with quality diverse instrumental repertoire, pedagogical instrumental technique, and classroom/rehearsal techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience at the middle or high school level
• Experience with jazz combos, rock bands, chamber music
• Master’s degree in Music, Music Education, or CA Single-Subject Credential for Music
