About the role
<h2 id="about-the-job"><strong>About the Job</strong></h2>
<p>We’re looking for an experienced System Architect (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies and define system solutions for data centres.</p>
<p>In your day-to-day work, you’ll be using our venture’s innovative technology to create state of the art machine learning/artificial intelligence or massive scale-out interconnect platforms and get the opportunity to contribute to various projects.</p>

<h2 id="in-this-role-youll"><strong>In this role, you’ll:</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Design and develop electrical and photonic architecture for data centre and high performance computing equipment</li>
<li>Determine and communicate design approaches and parameters</li>
<li>Drive system architecture definition for assigned program, and ensure consistency/compatibility across programs</li>
<li>Provide technical leadership of System Design projects, attending meetings, providing cross-functional information, and driving solutions</li>
<li>Perform feature and cost trade-off analysis</li>
<li>Partition design tasks and lead electrical team in implementation and validation on program</li>
<li>Drive appropriate simulation and ECAD</li>
<li>Work with engineering managers and design engineers to assist in the creation of the development plan for programs, including schedule, risks and resources</li>
<li>Analyse test plan requirements to perform verification and validation</li>
<li>Oversee experimental tests and evaluate results. Select components based on analysis of specifications, cost, continuity of supply, and reliability</li>
<li>Ensure that designs integrate with rest of product functions including mechanical and Software</li>
<li>Create and maintain required documentation including specifications</li>
<li>Ensure the manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability of designs</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="your-profile"><strong>Your Profile</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Experience in product early concept, development through production launch</li>
<li>Experience with different types of thermal management, including rack-level cooling, passive heat sinks, and cold plates</li>
<li>Understanding of chip to chip communication and communication interfaces (UCle, AXI, CXL, BoW, HBM)</li>
<li>Experience and understanding of silicon photonics or CMOS, ideally knowledge of optics</li>
<li>A solid understanding of security elements (TPM's) within a computer system, analog and digital design, high-speed bus interface design,CPLD / FPGA design, High-speed PCB layout design</li>
<li>Strong infrastructure experience, preferably data centre</li>
<li>Fluency in English</li>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 15+ years of related experience, or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 12+ years of related experience</li>
</ul>
<p>Please note that we are looking for support in the <strong>Aachen</strong>office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.</p>
