Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for certain general accounting and financial reporting functions for RWECE.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly closing journal entries
- Prepare and maintain reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
- Coordinate audit support and external auditors’ inquiries related to financial statements audits and group reporting package review
- Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
- Assist with the migration to SAP
- Support local and group accounting with ad-hoc internal and external requests related to financial information, business/merger, and acquisitions support
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA is preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant financial and business experience is required
- Must have good analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS
- Must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral form
- Experience with Peoplesoft and SAP is preferred
- Able to interact effectively across organizational boundaries to achieve goals and meet deadlines
- High energy level and ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
- MS Office computer skills are required
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $60,700.00-$91,000.00.The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
