Position Summary:

The Maintenance Assistant will assist the Facilities Manager with general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities to include building (interior and exterior), grounds, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, and other various plant systems and pest control.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with inspecting/identifying equipment in need of repair
• Assist with troubleshooting issues to determine necessary repairs
• Assists with planning repair work using equipment manuals as needed
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment
• Assists with upkeep of freezers, coolers, warehouse and office space
• Other tasks as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• Extended periods of sitting/standing
• Comfortability with heights
• Possess the ability to fit into small, confined spaces
• Bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
• Overtime/weekends may be required
• Must be dependable well mannered, and safety conscience
• Must possess critical thinking skill as well as being observant
• Must be able to work in extreme temperature conditions

Work Environment:

This position is in an office/warehouse environment and requires a flexible schedule and travel to accommodate FNEFL events. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with regular exposure to all weather conditions. In instances of a federal, state, or local declared emergency, FNEFL is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.
