GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:
Locally manage the marketing strategies for one or more hospitals, ambulatory sites and service area(s). Has oversight of one or more marketing specialists to assist with marketing efforts. This role is responsible for independently managing operational marketing work and closely coordinating with internal/external communications and the digital team. Creates strategic marketing plans that align to business and growth plans. Provides ongoing leadership with local presidents, physicians, service line leaders and other key stakeholders.
Has thorough knowledge of integrated brand marketing, digital marketing, event management and the planning/execution of marketing strategies. Simultaneously manages multiple projects and coordinates monthly ROI tracking reports. Provides writing expertise including conducting interviews for articles, writing, editing, proofreading, project management, social media and web content.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, public relations or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Seven to ten years of progressive experience managing in marketing for complex/matrix organizations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Marketing leader for several local hospitals, coordinating with larger hospitals and regional resources as needed to provide seamless service. Has oversight at a regional and/or statewide level regarding specific marketing tactics. This could be in the form of medical groups, digital marketing, CRM, service line, etc. Develops/executes plans and strategies with Presidents, Marketing and Communications leaders, Service Line Leaders and key physician groups that support growth of the organization. Leads major consumer events, working with Marketing Specialists and team Demonstrates management level knowledge and is able to effectively articulate marketing objectives and strategies to internal and external audiences.
Seamlessly coordinates with social media, PR and internal communications teams to provide effective promotional solutions. Leads digital marketing acquisition campaigns, working with the Marketing Specialists and the digital leads. Responsible and accountable for local hospital marketing budgets. Monitors adherence to budgets and recommends budget adjustments when appropriate. Manages new marketing opportunities in the community. Manages local radio/telephone messaging strategies, and coordinates with statewide media buyer when appropriate. Identify market challenges/opportunities and integrate into plans for departments, programs and services. Recommends new options/enhancements for local social media channels – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, blogs, etc. – working with regional team to post news and updates and monitoring activity. Provide management level writing and proofing skills for a variety of correspondence, media releases, reports, minutes and other assignments as needed.
Manages local media requests for information, photo or film shoots (in coordination with marketing specialist and media relations). Writes and edits professional presentations in a variety of multi-media formats (PowerPoint, video and in-house TV formats). Provides managerial and editorial oversight for local branded design, working with director as needed. Other duties as assigned by Director that support regional branding and marketing activities. Sets and organizes own work priorities and adapts to them as they change in an evolving and dynamic environment; easily flexes thinking and approach as the situation changes. Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to patients, clients, associates and vendors. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
Proven ability to work with leadership teams and Physicians and within complex matrix organizations. Ability to lead staff.
