Black Diamond Equipment is looking for a dynamic Retail Store Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operation of our new Retail Flagship Store in Seattle, WA; assuring excellent customer service is provided by well trained, highly motivated and personable staff.

This role includes assisting with strategic sales and marketing plans to drive revenue into the store, inventory, and maximizing profits with minimum cost. The Retail Store Assistant Manager will be on-site and oversee employee-customer interactions, stepping in as a salesperson when needed.

Requirements

1. Responsible to assist with all functions relating to the management of the retail store to achieve profit objectives. 

2. Assist with creating sales/marketing strategies, promotions, advertising, and merchandising programs.

3. Plan inventory and pre-season purchases and have a hand in inventory control

5. Communication with customers as needed, resolve problems and spend a majority of time on the sales floor actively selling.

6. Making the safety of the staff and store, including responding to alarm calls.

7. Assist BD employees with employee discount programs.

8. Able to step in for Retail Manager when necessary.

9. Be able to work weekends and holidays.

Who you are:

· You have a High School Diploma or GED.

· You have 2-3 years of retail store experience in the outdoor equipment industry (preferred).

· Budgeting, time management, staffing/scheduling personnel, product knowledge, computer skills and basic accounting skills

· Have experience or knowledge of rock climbing, skiing and mountaineering, or a desire to learn about these skills and products.
