About the Team
Our Sales Systems team is responsible for designing, implementing and managing the systems used by more than 1,000 global sellers at Workday. We support the company's strategic investments for continued revenue growth and long-term operational scale. You will be part of a multi-talented team that specializes in systems analysis, process design, CRM vendor relations, and portfolio & project management.About the Role
We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Senior Business Systems Strategist. This role will report to our Manager of Systems Strategy and Vendor Management and is responsible for developing and executing a vendor strategy to support sales business systems solutions. This includes identifying and evaluating potential vendors, contract management, managing vendor relationships, and working with the business product owners to ensure that they have the tools and resources they need to succeed. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business systems solutions, a proven track record of success in vendor strategy, and a strong understanding of sales processes.
As a Senior Business Systems Strategist in this role, you will:
- Assist in execution of a vendor strategy to support Workday’s sales business systems solutions.
- Identify and evaluate potential vendors, and be able to oversee related internal processes including architecture reviews, privacy/ethics/compliance assessments, and contract renewals.
- Manage vendor relationships, including management of vendor contracts.
- Work with Product Business Owners to ensure alignment on current and future tooling needs.
- Keep up to date on the latest business systems solutions, trends, and competitive landscape to existing tooling.
- Track and analyze vendor performance.
- Develop and implement vendor management policies and procedures.
- Work closely with Sales Systems team to present upcoming project requirements for alignment on resourcing and deployment approach.
- Experience / understanding of the following applications is a plus: Excel, Smartsheet, Clari, Gong, Highspot, Outreach, Gainsight, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, Marketo, Conga/Apttus, Demandbase, Reltio.
About You
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in vendor strategy, preferably in the sales business systems industry
- 3+ years of experience working with Salesforce suite of applications
Other Qualifications
- Strong understanding of sales business systems solutions and operational processes.
- Proven track record of success in vendor strategy.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Be able to function effectively in an energetic, fast paced environment while maintaining excellent organizational skills, focus and attention to detail.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Go to Market (GTM) systems, data migration due to M&As, partner ecosystem processes, and vendor license and contract management.
- Background in Agile development and release methodologies, especially for automation of business processes, introduction of new products or monetization strategies.
- Able to manage multiple projects and initiatives in varying size and scope simultaneously.
- Strong meeting management skills: agenda, presentation, and strong written and verbal skills.
- Self-directed individual who will seek out information as needed to achieve the right outcomes.
- Comfortable operating with limited resources and doing hands-on work to get the job done.
