Massage Therapy promotes health and well-being by way of soft tissue manipulation and movement of the body. At Cleveland Clinic, our massage therapists use massage techniques to treat disorders of the human body, promote healing, improve clinical outcomes and encourage higher levels of wellness. Many patients enjoy massage therapy as a regular part of maintaining wellness, while others may use it as a temporary treatment for specific injuries or conditions. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying 8-hour shifts between 6:45AM – 5:00PM. No weekends are required.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology and hydrotherapy.
Interview patient to determine medical history, condition, desired results and appropriate modality.
Apply selected modality, focusing on areas of discomfort.
Monitor patient's responses to treatment and adjust, change or terminate treatment based on feedback.
Document patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedback and results.
Maintain therapy area in a clean, safe, sterile and organizational state.
Order supplies, as necessary.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school graduate or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program
Licensed in Massage Therapy (LMT) by the State of Ohio
One year of exp
