About the role


The Senior Associate, Private Infrastructure job supports portfolio management and surveillance activities across the firm's existing private equity and sub-debt investment portfolios such as private equity funds, co-investments, direct equity, mezzanine, and subordinated debt investments, as well as origination activities for new investments. This job develops product-specific marketing plans for private infrastructure and ensures competitive differentiation of products across collateral and campaigns. This job partners with stakeholders in the product, portfolio management, and asset class specialists departments.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on existing infrastructure portfolio.
  • Assist in portfolio activities including portfolio reviews, market research, rating agency analysis, sponsor evaluation, and investment modifications.
  • Assist in researching and analyzing both macro and portfolio trends to help drive investment goals and portfolio construction by selecting and executing direct equity, co-investment, private equity fund, and preferred equity investments.
  • Assist in screening, underwriting and structuring limited partnership commitments with external infrastructure fund managers.
  • Drives the creation of the investment platform strategy and product marketing collateral (brochures and acquisition fliers).
  • Closely monitor the performance of existing portfolio investments and maintain and expand regular communication with sponsors, investment partners, and banking intermediaries.
  • Collaborates with investment teams and engages with private equity investments. Supports investment evaluation and selections; evaluates risk exposures.
  • Develops private infrastructure investment procedures and policies in response to new market trends.
  • Serves as the primary marketing interface to private investment teams, product managers, and alternatives specialists business development teams.
  • Maintain investment performance databases and files.
  • Work with internal business partners to ensure all legal, compliance, and accounting requirements are met.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree)
  • Master’s degree and/or CFA preferred

Work Experience

  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred

Career Level

  • Institutional investment and/or private equity infrastructure/project finance and valuation experience preferred
  • Strong MS Excel modeling skills
  • Broad industry experience in power, transportation, renewable energy, etc.
  • Knowledge and ongoing interest in, current trends, success factors, participants and industry terms in infrastructure and energy investment markets
  • Familiarity with project documents, service agreements, joint venture agreements, financing agreements, etc. 
  • Demonstrated experience developing and using financial statement analysis and financial modeling
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work hard in a team-oriented, performance-based environments

Base Pay Range: $112,500/yr. - $190,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
