We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead the financial operations of our dynamic sales organization. The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing accounting practices, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and experience in a fast-paced sales environment. The Controller will work closely with senior leadership to ensure financial health and compliance, support sales initiatives, and provide data-driven insights to drive profitability and growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and trends to support strategic business decisions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting to adjust for changing sales conditions.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and monitor sales forecasts and budgets.
  • Track actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.

Accounting Oversight:

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data through reconciliation and internal controls.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

Payroll Management:

  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, including sales commission calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations, including tax filings, deductions, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR to implement and maintain payroll policies, benefits deductions, and employee records.
  • Manage payroll system updates and ensure integration with financial reporting systems.
  • Address payroll-related issues, including inquiries from employees, audits, and compliance concerns.

Sales Support:

  • Partner with sales teams to provide financial insights into pricing, contracts, and commission structures.
  • Support the development and implementation of sales incentive plans, commission calculations, and performance tracking.
  • Monitor sales pipeline and identify financial risks or opportunities.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and reporting.
  • Maintain and enforce internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities as needed.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Manage cash flow, ensure adequate liquidity, and optimize working capital.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and manage collections in coordination with the sales team.

Systems & Process Improvement:

  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement automation and technology to streamline reporting and transactional processes.


Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, preferably in a sales-driven organization.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software (ERP systems, QuickBooks, Excel).
  • Experience with sales-related financial issues (e.g., commission structures, revenue recognition).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, operations, and executive leadership.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the mobile/fiber sector or working with a high-volume sales organization.
