WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING| THE ROLE
The Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements for our corporate entities and fund entities. Familiarity with all aspects of our company will be required to succeed in this role and communicate relevant financial information to stakeholders. This position will focus on aspects of financial reporting, including journal entries, general ledger analysis & review, reconciliations of accounts, distribution of reports, and month-end closing, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements for each entity.
Relationships:
- Reports to the Assistant Corporate Controller
- Works closely with and provides reports to CFO.
- Establishes and maintains a positive rapport with team/ property accounting/ development staff/ senior management/ and investors.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple corporate entities along with consolidated reporting and narrative.
- Prepare real estate fund and partnership financial statements along with related accounting activities.
- Guide and support corporate accounting staff with day-to-day responsibilities as needed to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Prepare supporting schedules for month-end financial statements.
- Perform treasury functions with multiple banking relationships.
- Assist with migration from QuickBooks to Yardi for corporate and real estate development accounting.
- Assist with coordination of annual audit and tax activities.
- Assist with accounting activities related to real estate development projects.
- Monitor and enhance current systems/processes for the corporate and real estate development accounting department.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports for management.
WHAT YOU BRING| THE PERSON
- 2+ years of public accounting along with real estate corporate and/or development accounting experience.
- CPA preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP including partnership accounting, consolidations, and fixed assets.
- Yardi ERP software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
