Job Summary
Responsibilities
Leads the design, execution, and completion of approved research projects, including study design, data acquisition, statistical analysis, interpretation, and manuscript preparation.
Collaborates with the PI and research team to conceptualize and advance new research initiatives from idea generation through project implementation and dissemination.
Conducts statistical and clinical outcomes analyses using multi-institutional and national registry datasets to support ongoing research initiatives and publications.
Identifies and develops novel research questions aligned with the laboratory’s scientific priorities and performs feasibility assessments using available datasets and resources.
Integrates large clinical datasets and registry data to support translational and clinical research, including data availability assessments and generation of site-specific reports.
Participates in multi-disciplinary laboratory meetings. Initiates and maintains research collaborations with other faculty at the University of Chicago.
Consults in troubleshooting and implements new strategies to overcome research challenges.
Monitors compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
Provides input on the organization, data handling, and data interpretation of current and upcoming clinical trials.
Assures laboratory supplies and equipment are ordered/well-stocked and available for research.
Serves as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis. Facilitates and promotes a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.
Develops laboratory protocols and training on new techniques. Manage, analyze and make recommendations on complex data sets for research.
Creates first drafts for scientific writing and publications, including protocols and grants.
Trains and mentors laboratory personnel.
Performs other related work as needed.
