We’re seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II to drive product development, support global manufacturing and sales operations, and play a key role in advancing our industry-leading actuation technologies.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to design cutting-edge products, develop 3D CAD models, analyze engineering challenges, and create solutions that meet the highest industry standards. You’ll collaborate across teams, ensuring compliance with industry regulations while delivering high-performance designs that push the boundaries of innovation.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Create new innovative and practical product designs in accordance with company specifications and design standards (as part of cross-functional development teams)
- Create product design models in 3D CADD.
- Analyze engineering problems and recommend solutions
- Perform and check engineering calculations to verify product design
- Execute detailed component design, including tolerancing, material and surface treatment selection
- Create, monitor and evaluate test programs to verify/validate product performance
- Create, check, and maintain appropriate engineering documentation in support of a product design, in accordance with company procedures
- Participate in NPD gate reviews, as needed
- Provide the sales, operations, and marketing groups with technical assistance
- Communicate effectively with outside agencies to obtain product approval
- Work with other departments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
For This Role, You Will Need:
- This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 2+ years of direct design experience as a Mechanical Engineer
- Demonstrated ability to independently design mechanical components based on a keen understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, machining & assembly fit tolerances as well as kinematic & stress analysis
- Experience with 3D CAD software (preferably Solid-Edge)
- An understanding of FEA tools and how to interpret results
- Proficiency in the use of MS Excel and/or MathCad software, as well as MS Office suite of products
- Effective communication and decision making abilities (mandatory)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechancial Engineering
- Experience in the Nuclear industry
- EIT desirable but not mandatory
- Design experience in valve & actuator, oilfield, or rotating equipment industries
- Experience with Solid-Edge
