Your Responsibilities

 

As a Sr. Software Engineer for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group located in Urbandale, IA, you will...

 

• Work on aggregating agricultural work to help users analyze their farm data in John Deere Operations Center.
• Developing and supporting high quality John Deere RESTful APIs and backend data processing systems
• Engaging in all aspects of the software delivery cycle including the design, build, test, deploy, and support of software applications
• Engaging in Agile software development activities including team sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
• Collaborating with Product Managers, Architects, and other supporting teams to define product requirements and system design
• Supporting a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation and Continuous Integration
• Interfacing regularly with customers to ensure technical solutions are meeting their needs. This position will focus on a very high visibility project, with many dependencies and stakeholders

What Skills You Need

 

• 5 years of experience with Go, Scala, C, C++, Java or similar programming language
• 2 years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• 2 years of experience with system design and architecture
• 2 years of experience optimizing systems for large-scale data processing & storage 

What Makes You Stand Out

 

• Experience developing with Go
• Experience with GIS development
• Experience or education in higher level mathematics
• Solid communication skills and willingness to have constructive, healthy debate 

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

• Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or other IT related discipline
