The UM-Flint School of Nursing has an Adjunct Clinical Lecturer opening for  NUR 410 (Theoretical Concepts of Population-Centered Nursing) positions for the Summer 2025. This is a 2 credit precepted clinical course running 5/5/2025 through 8/15/2025.

This is a precepted clinical. You will have to accompany students to their clinical site every Friday and arrange experiences for them in collaboration with the lead clinical faculty.

Course Description: Synthesis of nursing and public health science, focusing on maintenance of optimal levels of health and wellness among individuals, families, groups and aggregates in community settings. Introduction to epidemiology principles, with emphasis on disease prevention and health promotion among population groups. In clinical experiences in varied community settings, students apply synthesized knowledge and practice nursing skills essential in caring for a community’s health. Theory/clinical.

Theoretical and clinical learning experiences prepare students to provide care for the acutely and chronically ill and also to instruct clients in health promotion and disease and injury prevention. BSN students develop the skills necessary to manage the healthcare needs of clients in a variety of settings. Nursing positions with the U.S. Public Health Services, Indian Health Service, and those seeking to be commissioned officers in the U.S. military require a BSN degree. A BSN degree allows for career flexibility and serves as the foundation for education at the master’s (MSN) or doctoral (DNP) level.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• MSN Degree;
• Previous experience teaching and/or practicing in community or population health nursing;
• Unencumbered RN License in the State of Michigan
