Staff Accountant

Description
MEMX is searching for a Staff Accountant to join it’s remote-first team. As a member of the Finance Team, you will be part of a highly engaged and collaborative group that will provide a hands-on, structured environment for you to learn and broaden your accounting skills and knowledge. With a lean team structure that is actively involved across the firm, you will gain exposure to a wide range of finance and accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas including general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable,
- Code vendor invoices to correct approvers and expense accounts in accordance with accounts payable procedures,
- Review and post customer cash receipts to the general ledger and reconcile accounts receivable,
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors and customers in order to resolve accounts payable queries and facilitate the collection of outstanding receivables,
- Assist in monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger accounts,
- Provide support to the Finance team with audits and special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA preferred but not required
- 1-3 years or more of related experience
- Organized and attentive to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptable to and enjoys new technology
- Must have a high degree of personal responsibility and proactivity in line with our remote first work environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, etc.)
- Financial services or technology background preferred
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Ramp, or comparable systems
Salary: $74,000 to $90,000
