About the role:

The corporate strategy team is responsible for leading Alcoa’s annual strategic planning process, implementing key strategic initiatives, contributing to business development activities (mergers, acquisitions, JV formation, and divestitures), and supporting strategic problem solving across the businesses.  To complete its mission, the corporate strategy team collaborates closely with business and functional teams across Alcoa.

The Strategy Manager has responsibility for conducting strategic analyses in support of Alcoa’s overall strategy and business priorities. 

Areas of Accountability:

  • Leading projects and teams, collaborating as “one-team” with business units

  • Conducting analysis and generating insights to create actionable recommendations on specific strategic questions, for example:

    • Evaluating the business case for a major investment

    • Evaluating the competitiveness of an industry player relative to Alcoa

    • Identifying investment/partnership opportunities

  • Managing the work of others, including project team members and corporate strategy staff, without direct supervision

  • Raising awareness of key competitive developments that could impact Alcoa’s competitive position

What you can bring to the role:

  • University degree in business, economics, or engineering

  • 5+ years proven experience in consulting, strategy, marketing, or finance.

  • Understanding of markets, demand and capacity.

  • Ability to lead strategic research and analysis, including data gathering from various sources, financial analysis, market analysis, recommendation development, etc.

Base salary: $103,000 - $141,500 USD annually

Total rewards packages listed, including base salary and bonus eligibility, applies to US based applicants only. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies in conjunction with multiple components of the Employee Total Rewards Package. Alcoa reserves the right to change plans at its discretion.
