Job Description
The Virtus Investment Partners Talent Acquisition team is a dynamic group dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce that aligns with our organization’s strategic goals. We operate within a corporate shared service model, where our team collaborates closely with affiliate managers working across various geographic regions to identify and attract top talent as well as close collaboration with colleagues across the HR Center of Excellence operating model. Through proactive outreach and pipeline management, we not only meet the immediate hiring needs but also build a robust talent pool for future opportunities resulting in significant cost savings for our business teams. Additionally, we partner with a variety of organizations to enhance our outreach and create pathways for underrepresented talent.
The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist is a talent advisor who plays a pivotal role working with the business teams to execute the delivery of our talent attraction strategies and provide thoughtful influence to enhance business decisions in attracting talent.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of success within the investment management industry to join our team. This individual will need to be adept at pivoting to cover all levels of requisitions from early career through experienced hire and understand key concepts when working with investment staff. This role can be performed remotely depending on the current location of the selected candidate or be based in Hartford, CT.
Job Duties
- Execute the effective delivery of the full-cycle recruitment process, including:
- Tactical sourcing of potential candidates using various tools such as candidate referrals, networking, websites, social media, etc.
- Thorough screening and qualifying of candidates, performing in-depth, behavioral-based interviews, coordinating interviews with hiring managers, and providing input and recommended action on candidates under consideration; and
- Closing candidates through the offer and acceptance process, ensuring an excellent candidate experience throughout.
- Work closely with hiring managers as their talent advisor to obtain a thorough understanding of their hiring needs, position requirements, and the skills and competencies required of successful applicants; develop strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders, including our affiliated managers, in different geographic locations.
- Educate employees and managers on specific behavioral-based interviewing techniques, recruiting policies, and guidelines, as needed.
- Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) by processing all direct applicants promptly and updating the ATS as candidates move through the recruitment cycle.
- Cultivate a pipeline of talent for Virtus and affiliates through ongoing sourcing and market research based on needs analysis with hiring managers and partner with various external organizations to improve outreach efforts to create pathways for underrepresented talent.
- Collaborate closely with the HR Center of Excellence stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of talent acquisition initiatives.
Ideal Qualifications
- BA/BS experience preferred.
- 5 plus years of proven track record success in talent acquisition, specifically within the investment management industry.
- Experience leveraging web-based resources to source candidates such as LinkedIn Recruiter; CFA Institute, 12twenty, RippleMatch, etc.
- Strong understanding of the recruitment landscape and key concepts relevant to investment staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and advise business teams effectively.
- Previous experience with large-scale HCM and applicant tracking systems, preferably Workday.
- Analytics oriented with the ability to leverage data to solve business needs. Strong user of Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional groups such as Finance, Compliance, Legal and HR regarding talent initiatives.
The starting salary range is $91,000 to $111,000.
The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan.
