Our Enterprise Solutions development team provides application development and Tier 2 support. We work closely with our business partners in developing new web applications, enhancing existing ones, and building Enterprise Services for our Enterprise and LOB business partners. As a Sr. Business Systems Analyst, you will lead collaboration efforts with business units and technical teams to establish priorities for resolution of Enterprise Solutions development team and issues. You will determine the business needs and capture requirements for improvement projects and to improve processes and functionality for supported applications. You will also act as a liaison between UMB users of business application systems and technical teams. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by IT leadership.
This role is hybrid (Tue & Wed on-site) at the UMB Tech Center located in downtown Kansas City, MO.
How you’ll spend your time:
- Partner with UMB’s lines of business to determine business needs. Identify, recommend, and develop solutions to improve processes and functionality as it relates to the Enterprise Applications.
- Develop and write business and functional requirements for Enterprise and LOB application changes.
- Manage and document specific application and BAU system changes.
- Oversee team testing methodology for test scripts and appropriate full-cycle testing in conjunction with QA testing team.
- Identify risks to UMB and to our internal and external customers and working with our business partners to mitigate and to eliminate the identified risks.
- Partner with technical services groups (internal MIS and/or external vendors) to design technical solution to meet the business requirements.
- Configure application enabled business systems.
- Construct test cases, develop test scripts, and facilitate appropriate testing (unit, integration, system, QA, UAT).
- Assist with end user training.
- Assist in maintaining accurate system and System Development Lifecycle documentation.
- Assist the project manager on initiatives, identifying tasks, preparation of estimates, and development of work plans.
- Organize and ensure accurate updating of team system and process documentation.
- Validate production implementation and provide change control approvals.
- Lead collaboration with business units to establish priorities for resolution of multiple system problems and issues.
- Lead UMB Business and Technology Strategies to evaluate technology opportunities to enhance operations.
- Serve as system liaison between UMB users of business application systems and the technical services group (internal MIS and/or external vendors) responsible for support.
- Serve as mentor for less experienced team members and train fellow business systems analysts.

- You have at least 5 years of experience in performing systems analysis or similar analytical functions.
- You have at least 7 years of experience in one supported operations or business area
- You understand how agile teams operate and handle requirements.
- You have knowledge of the fundamentals of the financial industry.
Bonus Points if:
- You have specific experience with healthcare industry.
- Agile certifications such as PMI-ACP, CSM, or CPO.

Compensation Range:
Minimum: $69,230.00 - Maximum: $179,300.00The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
