This position reports to the CAO for Orthopaedic Surgery

 

Occupational Summary/ Work Performed

 

• Provide administrative direction and coordination of operational budgets, 

• Direct use of reserve and restricted funds and monitor fiscal operations. 

• Implement University policies and guidelines as they relate to budget and payroll.

• Direct and coordinate budget preparation for a large organization;

• Consult with officials to determine policies guidelines and program changes; 

• Prepare and distribute budget information.

• Maintain interface with departments to ensure compliance with established budgets and operational plans to investigate variances and recommend solutions, and to develop long range financial plans.

• Direct financial analysis of major programs, new initiatives, and capital projects, including cash requirements.

• Collect, analyze and interpret financial data as requested by higher management;

• Review business plans and associated financial analyses for reasonableness

• Provide information to various professional and University organizations or staff concerning fiscal 

• Direct various departmental personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisal, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.

 

 

Essential Skills:

• demonstrated experience in setting(s) where attention to detail is/was paramount, 

• financially focused and deep experience bench working with all elements of organizational finances, 

• the ability to lead and follow as necessary to be a strong team player

Minimum Qualifications

 

 

Education

Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a closely related field.

 

Experience

 

Work requires a minimum of eight years progressively responsible OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE experience in administrative management, to include proficiency in budgeting, grants and contracts, personnel supervision and space and facilities management. A Master's degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Accounting or a closely related field may substitute for two years of required experience.
