Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. We’re searching for a Software Engineer to join Aurora’s Online Map team. The Online Map team is responsible for providing map data to the Aurora driver in the face of real-time world changes.
In this role, you will
- Work cross functionally with simulation, perception, and other partner teams to build technology that measures the performance of the online map system.
- Develop and maintain pipelines for processing large data.
- Build infrastructure and systems that support go/no go decisions for deploying the Aurora Driver
- Work with large scale data to mine for scenarios that represent challenging cases for the Aurora driver.
- Be at the forefront of deploying a driverless truck to the road
Required Qualifications
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python
- Strong software design skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Math, Data Science, Information Systems or a related area, or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability preferred.
- Minimum 3-4 years professional experience
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology
- Ability to work on large code bases and a fast growing environment.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working with bayesian statistics
- Experience interfacing with data science teams
- Experience working with simulation technologies
- Experience interacting with sensors and sensing modalities
- A strong familiarity with machine learning models, robotics or computer vision systems and their architecture.
The base salary range for this position is $168k-$252K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
