Lead Laundry Attendant

Responsibilities: To ensure operations of laundry functions are in order to maintain cleanliness and adequate stock of clean linens for rooms and food and Beverage while controlling costs, maintaining inventories and overseeing operations of the departments.

Duties:
1. Reports to work dressed in proper attire and on time following proper clock in/out procedure as outlined in the employee handbook.
2. Responsible for training and constant supervision of laundry staff.
3. Complete daily inventory of clean and soiled linen and plan laundering needs accordingly.
4. Follow all record keeping and retention policies.
5. Check Laundry Equipment and supplies daily and notifies Executive Housekeeper or Engineering of any problems.
6. Participates with scheduled inventories of linen and supplies as requested by Executive Housekeeper.
7. Assist with preventative cleaning and laundering program as assigned.
8. Ensure stocking of linens on each floor as prescribed by hotels SOP’s
9. Performs duties of laundry positions and in other housekeeping positions as needed.
10. Ensures special projects are assigned and properly followed through until their completion
11. Attend all meetings related to laundry.
12. Adhere to all fire, safety and security procedures according to the management company and hotel policies.
13. Comply with all hotel policies and SOP’s of the hotel and its management company.

NOTE: This hotel operates seven days a week, twenty four hours a day. I am aware that at times it will be necessary to move me from my accustomed shift if business demands. I also understand that business determines the amount of hours I work. Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.

To do this kind of work, you must be able to:

Qualifications: Must have two years of experience in a laundry position. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Demands: Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.

Math Skills: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Language Skills: Must have developed English language skills to the point to be able to communicate effectively (both written and orally) with other employees, guests or vendors as needed. Must be able to read and comprehend written information.

Specific Vocational Preparation: An occupationally significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training, on the job training, or essential experience in less responsible jobs which lead to the higher job or serving in other jobs.
