POSITION CONCEPT 
The Manager, Key Accounts is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to build relationships most effectively with retail commercial and industrial customers, as well as new business customers, to maximize the efficient growth of Tampa Electric.  Interacts frequently and develops partnerships with internal departments and other TECO Energy Companies to conceive, organize, and implement new products and services, plus ensures existing products and services are effectively marketed to business customers. The Manager is also responsible for providing leadership and creating an environment that promotes internal and external communication necessary to meet corporate objectives, departmental goals and Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) approved Demand Side Management (DSM) plans that support business customers.  Also responsible for supporting the company’s Economic Development strategy and Digital Strategy to drive business growth in the Tampa Electric Service area. 


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Establish and foster an environment that promotes building successful Customer relationships and establish a mutually beneficial association with corporate decision makers through on-going personal interaction. Strong focus on Large and mid-size business customers.
  • Develop, manage and execute strategic initiatives and metrics that achieve corporate objectives and departmental goals, which include the sales and delivery of all Tampa Electric products and services that bring value and enhance the Customer relationship.  
  • Manage the utilization of industry, market, regulatory programs and competitor information to develop and implement action plans which enhance Tampa Electric's ability to successfully retain and expand its customer share, while driving satisfaction. Provide input and represent Large Commercial Business on key internal strategic discussions such as rate proceedings,
  • Manage the company’s resources to ensure delivery of information to support Tampa Electric's business planning. Support key initiatives, but not limited to, Standby Generation, projected demand and energy usage for phosphate, co-generation and large C&I customers, reliability, customer coordination of planned outages, impacts associated with co¬generation activities, co-generation wheeling and O&M interconnections. 
  • Provide leadership and support in the areas of economic and competitive analyses, Customer Service, strategic planning and rate design.  Manage the department staff; tools, methods, procedures and budgets to maximize value and balance the impact and returns to customers, team members, the company and shareholders.  Works directly with regulatory and other departments to ensure appropriate team member training programs. 
  • Develop and maintain a customer-focused, knowledgeable and empowered employee team capable of meeting the competitive challenges within their respective market segments.  Remain current with industry best practices and knowledge in the areas of DSM, Customer Service, and Account Management, plus evolving technology such as electric vehicles and renewable energy. Develop and administer metrics to drive customer satisfaction and company scorecard results and lead internal leadership meetings to ensure business customer satisfaction, such as the Customer Issues Monthly Leadership Meeting. 
  • Support the development and implementation of Large Commercial programs, process and related activities, including the transition to digital customer services. Associated duties include project requirement approval, design, coordinating research, customer interviews and procedure development of new and existing programs within the Company and with outside contractors and venders to grow business customer participation, and control expenses.  This work directly supports the CE Digital Business strategy for improving business satisfaction. 
  • Support strategic internal & external meetings and project teams to develop optimal customer value propositions for incentives and construction, while support EDOs in negotiating business development and retention activities in TEC’s service area.  Provide support to negotiate and develop formal offers for retention and new business to support economic development. Work closely with Regulatory and Leadership to propose CISR offers and other special types of economic development business offers. 
  • Support Economic Development strategy and drive business results.  Support activities related to the economic development rider tariffed programs. Develop and administer internal reports, metrics and tracking mechanism for large economic development projects.  Works closely with e
