About the Job

The Investment Valuation Analyst role within the MCM Portfolio Valuation team supports the creation, monitoring and documentation of all portfolios purchased by MCM. Reporting to the Manager, Investment Valuation & Analysis, the analyst will be responsible for the valuation team's monthly processes and creation/maintenance of the repository of documentation. In addition, this position will support the due diligence valuation process and use tools such as PySpark & SQL to conduct ad-hoc analysis on the performance of purchased portfolios.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute recurring valuation processes, including management of valuation databases and performance reporting.
  • Develop and maintain valuation documentation repository to comply with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Support the due diligence portfolio valuation process.
  • Conduct analysis related to performance of purchased portfolios and provide surface recommendations to the valuation and broader Decision Science teams.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's                     FIELD OF STUDY:  Business/Economics/Finance or other Quantitative Field

EXPERIENCE: 1 -2 years’ experience in an analytical/quantitative role.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of net present value (NPV) calculations, the logic of IRR, and asset valuation approaches. Familiarity with statistical models and their applications.
  • PC Skills: Advanced proficiency with MS office (especially Excel). Experience with SQL, or other programming language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's                     FIELD OF STUDY:  Business/Economics/Finance or other Quantitative Field

EXPERIENCE 1-3 year’s relevant experience in financial services, SQL, PowerBI, VBA, Advanced MS Excel Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

  • Technical Skills: Experience with the logic of credit scoring and the development of marginal economic analysis. Experience estimating statistical models.

Starting Compensation

Annual Salary: $72,900.00 - $94,899.00 (Amount based on office location, relevant experience, skills, and competencies)
